Services Provided:
WHIRSCQ provides counselling and support to women, men and young people. This includes disadvantaged groups such as:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people (ATSI)
- Culturally and Linguistically Diverse groups (CALD)
- Homeless women or ‘at risk of homelessness’
- Rural, regional and remote areas
- Disability including mental illness
- Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) community.

Additional Services:
- Information and referral support to other services
- Workshops—scheduled throughout the year and facilitated by WHIRSCQ counsellors, topics include creative journalling, self care, understanding anger, vision boarding, confidence, assertiveness, self esteem and self awareness.
- Groups—regular groups by external facilitators, open to the community (including Tai Chi, Capricornia Dance Exchange, Mindfulness & Compassion Meditation).
- Other supports—assisting women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness by providing shower and laundry facilities, and where possible basic clothing, sanitary items and a meal
- WHIRSCQ is proudly affiliated with ‘Share the Dignity’ and accept contributions of sanitary products from the public for distribution to those in need.
